Your Robot

  1. Your robot must be LIVE at MakeAffinity.com.
  2. Minimum Complexity Requirement: There are no set tasks for your robot to perform. It can be any kind of robot under any theme performing any task. However, winning robots must allow AT LEAST 2 DISTINCT ACTIONS to be performed by users of your robot. In other words, the control panel of your robot must have at least 2 buttons and each must cause a distinct action to be performed. For example, one button to switch on a motor while another to do the opposite.
  3. Video Requirement: The user must be able to see a LIVE streaming video of your robot so they can see what it is all about. In other words, your robot must define a working Cam.
  4. Your robot must be registered here.

General

  1. A snapshot of the final scores will be taken within 24 hours of the closing time of the competition. The scores and rankings will be listed on the competition results page.
  2. Ties are unlikely as the system computes and stores each robot's scores as a high precision number (at least 10 decimal places). If ties do occur, each will be broken by an additional vote that is cast by MakeAffinity and this will be indicated in the results.
  3. Results will be presented within 7 days of the closing time of the competition.
  4. The Honours and Project Profile Awards are not determined by user voting in this competition.
  5. The first USD1550 of sponsorship money will make up the base awards. The remainder sponsorship money will be distributed between the awards as additional prize money. The base award is guaranteed regardless of the received sponsorship amount. The remainder sponsorship money is distributed between the awards proportionately based on the perceived ranking of the awards. The perceived ranking is determined by MakeAffinity. The amount of sponsorship money received and their eventual distribution will be listed in the results.
  6. Winners must provide a PayPal address for cash awards to be sent to. Other methods of fund transfer is not supported in the competition. Please ensure that your PayPal email address is entered in your robot project details correctly.
  7. Winners of medals must provide a physical address for the medals to be sent to by international registered mail or courier service.
  8. Contestants must provide a verifiable email address as part of participation requirements.
